SmartView
The format that drives the most attention time.

SmartView arrives full-frame in 16/9, shifts into a panoramic shape as the user scrolls, then fades away. The format in our range that drives the most attention time, up to twenty-five seconds per user.

A format that lives with the scroll

SmartView appears on screen in an expanded state, a 16/9 rectangle that fully commands the eye. Then, as the user scrolls the page, it gradually narrows into a panoramic shape. Keep scrolling, and the format fades away entirely.

This movement isn't a gratuitous effect. It gives the ad presence over time rather than in a single instant, and turns the scroll, which normally makes banners disappear, into a mechanism for engagement. That's what explains the attention times we observe: up to twenty-five seconds per user, typically with a video asset, which remains the content type driving the longest durations.

Two ways to produce it

An existing asset, or a bespoke creative

Whether you start from an existing asset or a dedicated creative, the format adapts to your starting point.

In standard 16/9

Supply a visual or a video in the standard 16/9 ratio. It's the simplest option, and above all the most direct way to reuse existing video assets, including films made for television, with no retouching and no new production.

In panoramic 2400x540

Supply a panoramic visual at 2400x540 pixels. This is where the effect really comes into its own: the transformation on scroll produces a genuine zoom and unzoom movement across the centre of your visual.

Performance benchmarks

SmartView is the format in our range that drives the longest attention durations, particularly when it runs on a video asset.

A highly configurable format

SmartView isn't limited to the main visual. You can add background images, which set a scene behind the creative, and overlay images, which sit on top to add an object, a packshot or a signature element.

On top of that comes the full set of experiences we offer across our exclusive and standard formats. These are overlay elements you activate case by case, enriching the creative without having to rebuild it.

A few available experiences

Overlay elements, picked as you need them

These three examples are only a glimpse of the library of experiences available across our formats.

Call to action overlay

A call to action button sits over the creative to make the intent explicit, without having to build it into the visual itself.

Scrolling legal disclaimers

Mandatory disclaimers display as scrolling text, keeping you compliant without giving up space or weighing down the creative.

Advertiser profile

A badge picks up the visual codes of a social media profile: the advertiser's logo in a circle, the brand name, and a tagline underneath.

Where SmartView sits in the range

Our three most used formats cover three different intentions, and are chosen according to the campaign objective rather than aesthetic preference.

SmartPulse is the performance format: it's the one that drives the most clicks. SmartView sits at the opposite end as the attention format: it's the one that holds the eye longest. SmartSolar sits between the two, with more attention than SmartPulse and more clicks than SmartView.

If your challenge is recall, establishing a brand territory, or running a film, SmartView is the right starting point.
